Guitar lessons from a Royal Academy of Music graduate and former BBC Young Musician finalist

I am a committed and passionate teacher of guitar, able to take students from absolute beginner level to Grade 8 and beyond.

I focus on building a secure technique and the foundations of musicianship in a fun and accessible way, to help students grow into well rounded musicians whatever style they may aspire to. I believe a grounding in classical guitar technique can make any style of playing easier – I play electric guitar, steel string, mandolin, banjo etc. but focus on classical guitar in my teaching. That doesn’t mean to say the music I use to teach is purely “classical” by any means! Making learning fun means using a variety of materials which appeal, particularly to children.

I regularly prepare students for grade exams in both ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses. Among this year’s exam results, 30% achieved Distinction and 38% Merit. However many other pupils simply learn for pleasure or are not interested in grade exams.

I currently teach in schools for Harrow Music Service, The Gower School (Islington) and The Falcons Pre-Preparatory (Chiswick) and am fully DBS checked.

I teach from home in Hornsey (London N8) and around North London. Prices reflect distance/time to travel but start at £20 for 30 mins at mine, £35 for an hour.
